The My Kia Site Vehicle Owner’s Survey

http://mykia.fateback.com/

The survey was open from the 13th to the 21st of December 2008. The survey was closed when 100 people had responded. A person could only respond once to the survey.

A limitation of the free survey facility was only 100 people could respond. The survey editor considered uploading a second survey to allow for additional people to respond, but decided against this as a combination of data from the two surveys would then be required during the collation period.

The survey editor purchased a new Kia vehicle in February 2008. To date he had not received any survey material from Kia Motors. Several years ago he purchased a new vehicle (not a Kia) and after three months of ownership he received a survey requesting his opinion of his recent purchase.

As a result of the editor thinking about his own Kia vehicle purchase, he was curious as to what other people thought of their Kia vehicles.

The survey editor stated at the survey site that he reserved the right to publish part, or all of the results from the survey at different forums and with a range of different people.

The survey was constructed using: Company: SurveyMonkey.com; Location: Portland, Oregon USA.

The data from the survey, the collation of data and the publishing of the results are the property of
The Cookie Publishing Company © 2008 and it may not be used unless permission is granted from the editor: mymonaro2003@yahoo.com.au

This survey was not affiliated with, or endorsed by Kia Motors in any way. The Kia brand and vehicle model names are the trade mark of Kia Motors.

Written Notes For Question 4: How would you rate the service which you received from your Kia dealership during the transaction of purchasing your new vehicle?

England: Very helpful and no hassle sale with the car.

Australia: A minor problem of who was financially responsible to repair a fault reported during warranty but not repaired in that time. After their legal obligation was quoted to them the repair was done quite quickly.

USA: I had a very fair and honest dealer and they treated me good.

Australia: Did everything they could to make the process smooth. Car was prepared on time and presented in A1 Condition.

Great Britain: I answered excellent because the garage honoured the price offered on my trade in after 3 weeks due to a family bereavement. Also when I went back after 4 months for the handbrake to be adjusted, they did it while I waited.

Portugal: Totally good.

USA: Sales went flawlessly. But I would like to have had a lower price then I got like we all do. I also thought that the PDI of vehicle was lacking as it was not really cleaned inside as well as I would have liked. Yes it was used with 32,000 on it. But seats and carpet and headliner were dirtier then I would expect of a Prep Dept to let it go out like that for delivery. A good detailing shop was all it took to clean whole car after I got it. And it then looked brand new and not like it had 32,000 on it. That was my only Buggaboo.

Australia: Great service, dealer gave us a lone Sorento to take home and test drive without a sales person with us.

New Zealand: No explanation required!!

USA: They were very friendly, thorough, and in no way pushy. Took me for a long test drive which I did not get with other dealers. Their overall laidback attitude made the whole experience way less stressful.

Canada: After price was agreed, I was dickering for add ons. I requested rails for the roof rack and was told they were not in stock. When I went to the parts section, they had four pair in stock. So the salesman lied to me and that is not conducive to a good relationship or rating.

Slovenia: I wasn’t too happy because they lied to me a few times about the date of arrival of my car.

USA: Sales person was friendly and knew the vehicle. They treated my wife very well as it was to be her vehicle and questions were directed to her instead of me.

USA: We had a few problems with the car at first, but they dealer was very professional and pleasant top deal with in getting the issues solved.

Australia: A little bit pushy but otherwise okay.

Canada: Dealership was unsure when car would be delivered.

Canada: I purchased the vehicle used from a private seller, I hope to never deal with the dealership if at all possible.

Australia: Salesman always kept me up to date and very friendly

USA: Vehicle prep was good, timely delivery. Finance through my local credit union was handled by dealer as part of regional cooperative plan.

Canada: Transaction done via email and phone, no money transpired till vehicle was picked up and in spotless condition on delivery. No pressure from salesman at any point, a very pleasurable purchase.

United Kingdom: Overfilled the oil during service, had to take it back to have it drained & re-filled. Apart from that pleased with the courteous & efficient service.

USA: Great salesman, low pressure, great discount.

USA: They were part changers not technicians. They tried to correct the many problems with our Kia and they finally went out of business. I took it to another Kia dealer and they have the same problem with not hearing the noise, fixing the pulling right since purchase or know how to treat their service customers.

South Africa: They took care of Nudge bar and Tow-bar installation, Tracker system, the whole nine yards. They also delayed registration from 16th December 2005 to 5th January 2006.

Sweden: No problem at all, very nice dealer.

United Kingdom: I was not pleased with the delivery. I was talked into accepting the Superguard finish, but the application was not properly conducted. I found the contents in a box in the back. I was told that the delivery preparation, and inspection was done at another site, and the process was lacking, but no comeback was offered. Rather that suffer further aggravation and some of the incredulous responses one gets in such situations, I completed the job myself and I am sure, to my satisfaction. I came away with the distinct impression that the original "no job too small Loving Feeling" was dissipating into thin air!! Makes me rather weary of the dealership.

USA: The people were friendly and very helpful.

USA: I was there on a purchase program through Costco. They were not supposed to play games with the price. They tried.

Poland: The garage doesn't seem to care if they do anything under warranty, had the car all day and still got squeaks and the A/C still doesn't work well, my seat still lowers down after about 3-4hrs of driving, but they know how to charge top prices for service.

USA: Had my transmission serviced Kia service department said the fluid was real dark. Cost me nearly $200.00 for service alone. The service manager informed me the transmission uses only their brand of fluid you cannot find it anywhere else. Is that true? A rear tail light which was broken on Halloween light cost to replace $210.00

USA: Got it for the price I wanted and got some rebate cash. I had to haggle but it was kinda fun.

Canada: Very good dealership, beats any I have dealt with before!

Canada: No problems so far.

Canada: They were awesome all around, everyone even stayed late after closing to help me get insurance and plates so I could take the car home that night.

USA: Well it took me 4 days after my purchase to get my 2nd key to the car. Other than that is was good.

USA: At first I was told one price, then later was told another price (at which was higher). After going around in a circle I told the sales-person that I was leaving and going somewhere else unless they went with the price they gave me at first. Long story short, they settled on the original price and even threw in step bars and keyless entry for my trouble.

USA: Salesman knew little about vehicle and deal was kinda rushed.

USA: Received great service during the sale.

Portugal: It was a fast process, but it lacked a bit on feedback from the dealer.

USA: Purchased as used vehicle with 17,500 miles. Had excellent experience at the Kia dealership where purchased. Vehicle had been serviced and they provided a spare key free of charge. Drove 250 miles to make purchase based on the internet deal and allowance for my trade- 2004 Mitsubishi Outlander with 60,000 miles.

Serbia: They were obliging, cooperative and quick. Also willing to give any wanted information.

South Africa: Just plain and simple superb service.

USA: The KIA dealer did not pressure me at all. I was looking for a used '07 Sorento and every time they had one in, they let me know. When they had one I liked, I did a test drive and bought it. I had already done a lot of research on the car myself, so I did not have to rely too much on the Sales guy. The only problem I had is that my Sales person was a newbie. So when I started to haggle the price down, he had to consult his supervisor all the time. Also, he told me that the car had a 5yr/60,000mls bumper-to-bumper warranty, which is not true. It's a limited warranty and you're kinda forced to purchase an extended warranty. When I signed the contract, the Sales Director apologized for this wrong piece of information and said my Sales guy was still in training.

United Kingdom: Very well explained by dealer. Even when they new it was to be contract hire.

Greece: I've encountered a problem with my stereo and was replaced asap.

Canada: Salesman was great and very helpful, however the owner/sales manager was a dick. Quite unprofessional the way he handled himself. That Kia dealership changed ownership soon after, then went out of business 6 months later. I'm not surprised. Their service department sucked as well, I only went there once. I now go to another Kia dealer in a nearby city for my service.

United Kingdom: No problems up to delivery

Croatia: No problems, good discount, quick delivery (from stock).

England: Could have been better, received car with seatbelts not removed from their transport position behind the trim, should have been done on the PDI.

Romania: Dealer wasn't interested in selling me the car. He didn't provide me information about it, no discounts.

England: I know it’s in their best interest to be nice, I was handing over £13,000...but the dealership were very helpful (and still are), didn’t try and push me in any way during the sale process. My wife and I were in discussion about model, (3 or 5 door) engine size, (1.6 or 2ltr) and colour. At no point was our decision altered by a salesperson trying to sway us in to purchasing anything other than what we really wanted.

USA: Found auto on the internet. There was no pressure to buy extra warranty or other options.

England: The selling dealer offered a very high level of care, allowing me to use the car for a full day on test drive, was more than happy to haggle on price & fulfilled all my requirements.

Belgium: The dealer sells also U.S. SUVs and has no interest with little cars. They sold me the car before having paid it to the importer, so I had the papers one month later, after having to threaten to sue the dealer.

United Arab Emirates: The sales person was well trained about the features of the car and was always willing to answer our questions.

USA: The Kia dealership was swift, and they got us through the complicated processes of credit apps. They worked with us, and we were able to buy our new car in less than 6 hours.

Australia: Friendly, eager to please. Willing to offer a competitive price.

Written Notes For Question 6: Are you satisfied/happy with your Kia vehicle?

Kia Ceed LS 1.6 diesel manual: Good build quality lovely ride don't under estimate the Kia badge.

Optima LX: I like driving it.

Borrego LX V6 Auto: There are some minor imperfections in exterior paint and interior fit and finish... but overall I'm very happy.

Opirus/Amanti, 3.5 ltr.: Here in Denmark it is an expensive car, about 110.000 USD, and it uses a lot of gasoline. We have to pay 1500 USD pr. year just to drive on the road, but it is a very nice car anyway. The lose value every year is huge, about 1/4 of the purchase.

Ceed SR 1.4 petrol: The only complaint I have is the constant one with the mp3 player. I get round it by using a memory stick (thanks to the forum). As yourself there was no letter from KIA regarding survey.

Picanto CRDI LX: No problems.

Kia Sorento, auto transmission, EX: I'd have to say I'm happy with the vehicle, but unhappy with the service from the dealership and number of TSBs issued on the car.

2004 Sorento LX 3.5L V6 4spd Auto: Yes it has had many of the normal known issues wrong with them all fixed. But overall I am very happy. Nothing other then that has gone wrong really other then the fuel pump at 45,000. And that was fixed under the 5/60. I have a 10/100 bumper to bumper extended 0 deduct warranty too as well. So I do not expect to have one bit of trouble that will cost me $ till 10 (Sept 2014) years or 100,000 miles.

EX 3.8 4x4: Driven country and city ,towed 2100 kg caravan around 15000 kms no trouble.

Sorento Diesel auto 4WD: No explanation required.

07 Optima Ex-V6: Very good car, period.

Rondo EX-V6 5 Seater: It does not inspire passion in driving, but for the price, it is a very practical vehicle that does what I want. I very much like the 5 speed transmission. I very much dislike the quality of the front seats, in terms of comfort for long drives. I don't much care for the way the cruise control looses speed on small hills. I am happy with the purchase, but what remains to be determined is if it holds up over time.

Kia pro ceed 1.4 16v cvvt dohc.: I am happy with my Pro ceed. Only with the radio I am not happy.

2003 EX Auto: It is a great vehicle but the electrical needs attention. Example the headlamps die after 6-8 months and the constant dome light problem. And the gas mileage could have been better. Mechanically it runs great and we have had no problems.

Ceed, 1,4 gasoline, manual transmission: Quite fair ratio equipment / cost

Sorento Ex: I have not had any major problems with my Sorento - the only thing that I would complain about was the recall with the clock that we were not informed about. I found out about it online and called my dealership and they replaced it. I love my Kia and would not trade it for anything unless it was a newer Sorento!

2005 Amanti: Seems to be a good car. Once the engine miss issue was solved, we have been pleased. It is the wife's main vehicle and she loves the ride. I love the room, but wish the suspension/handling was a bit more aggressive.

Kia Sorento Ex 2.5 CRDI auto: So far no problems. It does what I want it to do .Good tow vehicle as well as general commuting.

2008 Kia Sorento LX 2.5 CRDi Automatic: Have had no problems to date.

Sedona EX 3.8L, Auto Trans: Powerful, smooth, reliable, very versatile, full of features.

Spectra EX 2.0L Auto: Only problem was one of the original rims was deformed/would not balance. I have put some alloy take-offs from an SX on and only use original rims for winter tires with the bad rim on back where poor balance not noticed .... am sure dealer would have replaced buy I did not bother. Mileage and driving very good. Body lean a bit excessive if car pushed, have put a strut bar in the front designed for the SX and plan on putting Tiburon sway bar in rear next summer. Just for fun as I do not really need this kind of handling. Have improved the seats with a back bolster and can now drive all day without fatigue. Have owned many up-scale cars and the Spectra is really an under-rated vehicle. Low miles reflects choosing to drive one of my older vehicles whenever weather bad or need a wagon or camper.

Spectra EX 5-speed manual: This is the LEAST problematic vehicle I have owned. In fact at 62k miles I got my first problem light on the dash gauges and took it in to be fixed. $50 deductible & all fixed. Other than that all its been in for is routine maintenance :-)

Rondo, EX, 2.4L, 5-seater, auto: Well designed, excellent fit and finish, the 2.4L engine is amazing, solid, comfortable, excellent visibility, ease of entry, great storage.

Cee'd 1.6 CRDi LS: Just goes, no hassle. Comfortable on long journeys, 55+mpg on journeys, great performance for a 1.6 diesel.

Spectra5 SX 2.0 Auto: Several issues are not resolved with the dealer.

2004 (New) Optima EX V6, Auto Trans: This vehicle has given us problems ever since we owned it and the problems are just getting worse. We can't afford to trade it off even though it is paid for. Would definitely not buy another Kia at any price.

Sorento EX 2.5Lt CRDI 5 Speed Manual 4X4 HI/Lo Range Selectable.: This is my second 4x4 with Kia South Africa, their service and back-up is top class. They never quibble if you have a complaint. Previous vehicle was the Sportage 4x4 with Hi/Lo range, what an unbelievable vehicle off-road, it could go anywhere.

Kia Cee`d SW CRDI 115hkr,manual.: Very good car for little money.

Kia Cee'd Auto Diesel 113 SW LS: Nice car, but bumpy. Complained about handbrake, but was told that "hold" was within limits!!. Also noticed that the body including steering column resonates at certain engine speeds, unlike the Toyota, Volvo and small Citroen I have excess too. Diesel perhaps? Or lake of proper damping?

Optima 2007 6 cy: No real problems with this car. The passenger airbag light sometimes does not work correctly. Right now the check engine light is on but, it is time for the airfilter for the fuel tank to be replaced. Hope that it.

Sportage EX - 2.7 2wd: The only mechanical problem was in August 2008 a "surge tank" leak created an O2 sensor error. Problem diagnosed and repaired promptly.

Kia Ce'ed 1.6CRDI Optimus Prime: I'm very happy with the Kia Ce'ed

Ceed SW HDRI, 115 HP. Manual trans: Good "quality feeling" and nice behaviour. Some minor problems with the stereo system. Can not fully evaluate the car yet, too new.

Spectra 5, auto,: I freakin love this car! Absolutely no problems whatsoever.

EX V6 LUXURY 2.7L: One of the best vehicles I have had in 45 years of vehicle ownership!

Sorento EX,3.5 l,5sp manual: Been very good, so far. Had to replace four brake rotors and upper control arm.

Rondo, 4 cyl, automatic.: I am very happy with the vehicle. The only issue I am having is with the microphone when using the bluetooth handsfree option. No one can hear me, but I can hear them, but I'm not sure if it's a problem with the stereo, or a problem with my cell phone.

Sorento LX 3.5v6 Japanese 4 speed auto.: No support from Kia Company with warranty problems.

2004 Kia Optima 2.4L LX 4 speed transmission: No serious problems. In fact the people who sometimes ride in the car say "It still rides as if it is new." In fact, the interior still smells like it came from the factory.

Sorento LX, 3.5L V6, 5-Spd Manual: Very happy with the Sorento, would/have recommend(ed) to others and has been very reliable. I've been on numerous trips and use it to pull my 21ft pontoon boat with no problems.

LX, 3.3 ENGINE, AUTOMATIC: Except for passenger side airbag light working sometimes.

Kia Spectra, 4 cyl, automatic: Absolutely hate it!!! It has caused me nothing but problems since the day I drove it home.

Kia Pro_Cee'd 1600CRDi Tx: Excellent product, can only complain about the plastics used on the steering wheel.

Sportage XE 2.0l Manual: One tail light bulb blown, 1 fuse blown, exhaust tail pipe replaced and ABS Unit replaced since 2002

2007 LX V6 5 speed automatic: Very pleased with the solid feel and ride even with over 17,500 miles on the vehicle. No squeaks or noises. Get over 20 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on a road trip. Quality seems excellent. Engine performs well and is very strong on highway. Very comfortable ride.

proceed, lx city, 1,4 petrol, manual: Good road handling, low consumption, detailed finishing, good looking :)

Kia Elan, High Version, 1.8L, Manual: My car performs like new - no problems.

2007 Sorento LX 3.8 V6 4x4 Auto transmission: No problems at all so far. I love the way it drives.

Carens (Rhondo in the states) LS Diesel Automatic, 7 Seats.: It suits my lifestyle and has all the extras I need for the price of a Ford Focus. Also my wife and mother in law like the easy access to the seats.

KIA CEED, INTENSE EX, 1,4, MT: Until now everything ok, I still need some time for a definite verdict.

2006 Kia Rio5 EX Sport, automatic: It's a great little car. I would like to get better fuel economy, but then again I'm not light on the throttle. I have had a recurring check engine light problem due to random misfires but all seems to be fine for the moment.

Cee'd LS 1.6 Diesel: Has been in garage for over 5 weeks with steering problems - never really sorted out and now I have to live with it.

2006 Sorento ex auto trans: Sorento is a great looking suv, built heavy, handles well, comfortable to drive

Cee'd 1,4 Petrol, manual LX Fresh+: No major issues, great value for money, good drive, low consumption.

picanto se 1.1 manual: The car has been unreliable , shoddy build quality and quite feeble. It is used as a driving school car and is no match whatsoever to the Fords I have used previously. 5 clutches in 99000 miles is ridiculous ,my previous Fiestas all exceeded 160000 and only 2 had a replacement clutch fitted in that time.

Cee'd 1.4GSL MT LX Best: No problems so far.

Pro - Ceed 3 CRDI (1.6) Manual: For the price we paid compared to other makes, I have a sporty looking car, that feels VERY solid and seems to be fully equipped with everything I would want from a car. Add this to the fantastic warranty and you get one happy owner.

KIA Rio. 1.6 engine, auto trans, A/C,: Super satisfied, have no complaints.

Carens 1.8 Petrol Auto S.E.: Overall the car has been good, service times have been only minimal, though costs are ridiculous.

Picanto (aka Morning) 1,0 gasoline, basic model, manual transmission.: Simple basic a to z car, low fuel consumption, acceptable ride, good roadholding and brakes.

Optima, EX, 2.4L I4, 5 spd auto: Our car is well-built, well thought out, stylish, a great value, powerful, fuel efficient, and has plenty of toys in the interior. The best vehicle we've ever owned without a doubt.

Rio Hatch, CVVT, 1.6 litre, five speed manual: Good value for money, economical to run (my fuel consumption figures on open country roads is better than the stated combined official figures), I enjoy the cd/radio, electric windows and a/c, comfortable to ride in, adequate power for country open road driving.

Written Notes For Question 9: Would you purchase another new Kia vehicle again?

Borrego LX V6 Auto: Overall a good experience and would buy again.

Opirus/Amanti, 3.5 ltr.: Perhaps a Pro Ceed 2.0 litre.

amanti: Maintenance costs excessive, things like oil filters are not universal or easily purchased at auto parts stores.

Ceed SR 1.4 petrol: Due to the current economic situation I shall have to review the issue in a couple of years.

Kia Sorento, auto transmission, EX: This is the 2nd Kia I've owned and both cars were very good to me, however, the local dealership no longer carries Kias and I do not like the nearest Kia dealership. They speak down to me, and often try to tell me what I know is incorrect.

2004 Sorento LX 3.5L V6 4spd Auto: We as well own a 2003 Spectra LS bought new. It has about 62,xxx miles on it now and as well has the 10/100 bumper to bumper extended 0 deduct warranty. Based on its history or lack of it needing a thing, I bought the used 2004 Sorento LX with 32,000.

Sorento Diesel auto 4WD: If I wanted the same size (Sorento) I would BUT I've actually purchased another vehicle (VW Tiguan) which in my opinion is a better vehicle than the similar sized Kia Sportage.

07 Optima Ex-V6: Too soon to know.

Rondo EX-V6 5 Seater: I think Kia represents good value for money.

2003 EX Auto: At the time we were looking for a SUV and the Sorento was perfect but today there are other vehicles to choose that get better gas mileage.

Sorento Ex: I love my Sorento and I had an Optima before that. They are great cars and I would not hesitate to buy another one!

2005 Amanti: Not planning any purchase in the near future, but I would look at a Kia.

Kia Sorento Ex 2.5 CRDI auto: I find they are good value for money.

2008 Kia Sorento LX 2.5 CRDi Automatic: At this stage.

Sedona EX 3.8L, Auto Trans: Have purchased 4 and currently own 3, all bought new.

Spectra EX 2.0L Auto: Have purchased a new Rio, 2004.5 Spectra, This Spectra and a 2006 Sedona EX. The first two for my kids at University and the last two for myself and my wife.

Spectra EX 5-speed manual: HELL F****** YEAH!!! Is that clear enough?

Rondo, EX, 2.4L, 5-seater, auto: As I plan on keeping this vehicle for a long time, it would depend on what is available at the time of my next purchase, but their vehicles would certainly be considered.

Spectra5 SX 2.0 Auto: High depreciation.

2004 (New) Optima EX V6, Auto Trans: See above answers.

Sorento EX 2.5Lt CRDI 5 Speed Manual 4X4 HI/Lo Range Selectable.: Kia vehicles offer excellent value for money, they are now offering a 10 year warranty in RSA. Their build quality just keeps getting better and better, you also get all the bells and whistles when you buy a top of the line Kia.

Kia Cee'd Auto Diesel 113 SW LS: Too early for a proper assessment, but the problems, and responses in the various Kia forums, make my comfort level non existent.

Optima 2007 6 cy: Car is built well, runs great, good gas mileage.

2006.5 Kia optima LX 2.4L engine: Kias resale value drop like a rock.

Spectra 5, auto,: What can I say, I like my car.

EX V6 LUXURY 2.7L: Best value for money!

Rondo, 4 cyl, automatic.: This is my second Kia, the first was a Rio in 2004, I loved it but was having hip troubles so the standard transmission was getting painful to drive.

Sorento LX 3.5v6 Japanese 4 speed auto.: Just too many problems, some were taken care of under warranty others denied. The Sorento just is not a quality Truck I feel I could depend on.

2004 Kia Optima 2.4L LX 4 speed transmission: Sure, after looking at current models with increasing transmission, horsepower and luxury and more awarding. winning vehicles, why wouldn't I buy another Kia after being satisfied with the one I have now. I really like that new Soul.

Sorento LX, 3.5L V6, 5-Spd Manual Transmission: I am very satisfied with KIA vehicles and when the time comes, I will be purchasing another.

Kia Spectra, 4 cyl, automatic: The car is a piece of junk with MANY problems.

Sportage XE 2.0l Manual: Quality is ok just as good as other makes costing far more.

2007 LX V6 5 speed automatic: We live near the site for the new Kia plant in West Point, Georgia. In fact one of our neighbours has been to South Korea training for a position in the new plant. That announcement has made a great impact on the local area.

Kia Cee'd 1.6 GLS - Hi power: SW next year.

proceed, lx city, 1,4 petrol, manual transmission: Quality of production, sturdiness.

Kia Elan, High Version, 1.8L, Manual: Best styling and value for money

2007 Sorento LX 3.8 V6 4x4 Auto transmission: The car is an amazing deal for the money. It still has great looks, even though it has been around since 2003. It feels very solid and well built and the Sorento-update (07-onwards) got rid of the little annoyances the earlier models had. The 3.8 V6 is great. Plenty of power and gas mileage is not too bad. I also like the fact that it has a timing chain instead of a belt. Off-road and in the snow, the Sorento does great in 4x4. I would not buy any KIA though. I drove an Amanti for a day, when my car was getting maintenance. The Amanti handled like crap and the interior looked and felt cheap. I would never buy that model. It looks weird too.

Carens (Rhondo in the states) LS Diesel Automatic, 7 Seats.: I cannot comment on servicing as it is all covered under the contract hire. But the dealer I use is very good.

KIA CEED, INTENSE EX, 1,4, MT: If this vehicle sorts out ok, I will consider purchasing from the same brand.

2006 Kia Rio5 EX Sport, automatic: I've been happy with the car and the service I've received from the dealer. I would seriously consider a Kia Rondo or a Kia Soul as my next vehicle. Or even another Rio, provided I like the next generation when it comes out in a couple of years’ time.

Cee'd LS 1.6 Diesel: I would have to think about that.

Cee'd 1,4 Petrol, manual LX Fresh+: It depends which model specifically, I don't attach to a make. I always go for the best deal.

Sorento EX 3.5 Petrol: In the old days, I mean the 60s and 70s, cars were handed down from father to son and they were expensive. Later the Japanese produced cheaper cars that wouldn't last that long but provided value for money and reliability. Now the Koreans produces cars that provide reliability, value for money and a 5 year warranty which gives you peace of mind because that is the average period that most people would want to keep their cars.

picanto se 1.1 manual: That’s a no brainer.

Cee'd 1.4GSL MT LX Best: I like very much the car.

Pro - Ceed 3 CRDI (1.6) Manual: If I had the money I would like to replace our `smaller` run-about with a Kia. Possibly the Piccanto.

Carens 1.8 Petrol Auto S.E.: Like most modern motors, the Kia is becoming increasingly complicated and I prefer simpler things.

Picanto (aka Morning) 1,0 gasoline, basic model, manual transmission.: Value for money, and availability of "no gadgets" versions.

Model: Kia Sportage 2007, LX Engine/Drivetrain: 2.0L I4, 4WD, 4-spd Auto: Kia vehicles have improved considerably in quality now in design as well. My Sportage also has a good engine note when revved and at idle, the engine vibrations are not noticeable unless you're in a deserted area and everything is dead silent. The most important thing is Kia's bullet-proof warranty and low prices (comparing to majority of the market). Plus, here in UAE, the after sales services are just awesome.

Optima, EX, 2.4L I4, 5 spd auto: We would never buy ANYTHING but a Kia ever again!

Rio Hatch, CVVT, 1.6 litre, five speed manual: Good value for money when compared to the competitors (I was able to purchase a five door vehicle, not a three door model which a competitor was only able to offer). Extras are included in the price and this included front airbags.

Written Notes For Question 10: Has Any Warranty Work Been Undertaken On Your Kia Vehicle?

Optima LX: New Radio, Front Shock absorbers, fuel pump.

Opirus/Amanti, 3.5 ltr.: Front window sealant was not OK.

amanti: Starting problems (module), tire pressure model front end clunking.

Ceed SR 1.4 petrol: Just the hand brake adjustment.

Kia Sorento, auto transmission, EX: I've had several situations addressed which have been posted in TSBs and none have been covered under warranty - or so I'm told.

2004 Amanti: Transmission, front and rear suspension components, stereo.

2004 Sorento LX 3.5L V6 4spd Auto: Fuel Pump, Fuel Gauge Sender, Transmission Console Shifter Unit, HVAC Head Unit, Dome light diode, Water Pump, Intake Upgrade.

EX 3.8 4x4: A/C condenser replaced, light weight towbar replaced when damaged.

Sorento Diesel auto 4WD: A fray in the wiring to the injectors caused the vehicle to stop through fuel starvation.

2003 EX Auto: Dome light diode. Crankshaft bolt replaced. Butterfly screws. Warped brake rotors.

Ceed, 1,4 gasoline, manual transmission: Steering column failed (EPS)!

2005 Amanti: Engine miss issues (turned out to be some sensors and coil packs). Power steering pump.

SPORTY WAGON 1.6 CRDI 115HP, "TX" ITALIAN VERSION: Reprogrammed engine ecu. Changed radio unit. Changed automatic climate control.

Rondo EXV6 Luxury: Front wheel speed sensor, and missing roof tabs.

2008 Kia Sorento LX 2.5 CRDi Automatic: Problems with rear seatbelts not retracting.

Sedona EX 3.8L, Auto Trans: Brake Squeal fixed, new tensioners for timing chain under recall. Reset and reflash of engine computer after problem indicated ... no real problem just code in error.

Spectra EX 2.0L Auto: Not other than routine service.

Spectra EX 5-speed manual: Canister Close Valve--replaced under warranty $50 deductible

Rondo, EX, 2.4L, 5-seater, auto: Repair of one strand on heated rear window grid - replacement of windshield due to inside pressure crack.

Cee'd 1.6 CRDi LS: Replaced the driver’s seat - there was no height adjustment fitted, replaced an alloy because it wasn't lacquered properly.

Spectra5 SX 2.0 Auto: Car will not get over 26mpg under any circumstances. Passenger side airbag will not engage at times, even with adult (140lbs) in seat. Marker Lights turn back on after car has keys removed and sitting locked for a few minutes. Aux port for radio has bad engine RFI noise on any accessory. Passenger side headlight fogged. Dealer says all these things, save for headlight are not a warranty condition they can fix.

2004 (New) Optima EX V6, Auto Trans: Both front callipers and pads, hubs and bearings, front end align several times, had to keep programming done on the remote until someone thought about a bulletin to change out the unit behind the A/C unit.

Cee'd, Active, 1.6D 115, manual: ECU flash. Noise in front train.

Sorento EX 2.5Lt CRDI 5 Speed Manual 4X4 HI/Lo Range Selectable.: Fluctuating speedo gauge, and they replaced the left front door panel due to the outer lining making a noise like tacky glue when you pressed on it.

Sportage EX - 2.7 2wd: The only mechanical problem was in August 2008 a "surge tank" leak created an O2 sensor error. Problem diagnosed and repaired promptly.

Ceed SW HDRI, 115 HP. Manual trans: Stereo system. Original set does not respond on any pushing of the buttons occasionally. When having a new set installed the mechanic did break the antenna cable. So now the vehicle waits for a new antenna cable set. (This is not really KIA’s fault)

Amanti, 3.5 liter V6, 5 speed automatic: Loose strut connection that needed to be aligned and tightened.

EX V6 LUXURY 2.7L: Pulling to the right. Corrected by 4 wheel alignment and tire rotation. Has not re-occurred in 10,000Km since it was fixed.

Sorento EX,3.5 l,5sp manual: Shifter knob, wiper motor, dome light switch.

Sorento LX 3.5v6 Japanese 4 speed auto.: Head light assembly lens clouded. Horn failed. Harm/Balance Bolt. Intake manifold assembly.

2004 Kia Optima 2.4L LX 4 speed transmission: I had to have an engine coil replaced in March and it was still under the warranty. That means Kia is TRUE to there warranty. Oh yeah, it was fixed and nothing is wrong with my car. I keep up with my oil change and tire rotation and I have not had any serious problems with my car. I did get an alignment and tires but that is just ordinary wear and tear. Hmmmm.

Sorento LX, 3.5L V6, 5-Spd Manual Transmission: Other than recalls, I've had the dome-light diode replaced and the shifter knob replaced.

LX, 3.3 ENGINE, AUTOMATIC: Currently fighting with Kia to replace passenger seat because the airbag sensor doesn't work the same way all the time. They are supposed to replace seat and offer goodwill rebate after I agree to not pursue this issue if this doesn't fix the problem but this does not affect liability or injury suits if they arise.

Kia Spectra, 4 cyl, automatic: Have had the back window replaced 2 times, have had the body control module replaced, the driver side mirror replaced. Am having problems with the heater now and the transmission. Have only owned the car for 15 months, 6 months of which it sat in a garage not being driven.

Kia Pro_Cee'd 1600CRDi Tx: Engine remap has been done. Soon the steering column end will be replaced and I have a problem either on a "roller" from the alternator or water pump.

Sportage XE 2.0l Manual: Rattling exhaust, loose baffle in silencer, replaced. New front Brake pads fitted under recall in 2002/3.

Kia Elan, High Version, 1.8L, Manual: Front brake components replaced.

Carens (Rhondo in the states) LS Diesel Automatic, 7 Seats.: New starter motor which the technician noticed, which I had no reason to query.

KIA CEED, INTENSE EX, 1,4, MT: Stereo replacement.

2006 Kia Rio5 EX Sport, automatic: Noise from the front right wheel, engine misfires (spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced twice).

Cee'd LS 1.6 Diesel: Steering problems from new, pulling to the left - 5 weeks in the garage in the first three months.

Cee'd 1.4GSL MT LX Best: EPS Flexible Coupling replaced in a recall campaign.

pro ceed 1.6 crdi 66kw MT: Interior rear view mirror was vibrating @ engine speeds around 2000RPM. I don't know how they fixed it but they did :)

Optima, EX, 2.4L I4, 5 spd auto: The rear door handles had a small issue. The dealership had it fixed within just a couple of hours, and during that wait time, we were treated like kings!!
